Cooks Hill Surf Club Redevelopment Project

 In Latest News

MARS Building is proud to have been selected to work on the multi-million dollar Cooks Hills Surf Club redevelopment alongside Webber Architects.

The construction of the first stage of the project- building to the north of the existing building, commenced on Friday 29th July with a ‘Turning of the Soil’ ceremony at Bar Beach with Newcastle Lord Mayor Nautali Nelmes.

The redevelopment will involve demolishing the old club and building more change, patrol and first aid rooms, a gym and a function room.  There will also be a lift included in the design to allow those with a disability to access the beach. This will support the successful ‘Same Waves’ program that the club runs for children with a disability.

The project will be a great addition to Newcastle City Councils Coastal Revitalisation and we’re proud to play an important role in one of the biggest transformations Cools Hill Surf Life Saving Club has had in more than 80 years.
